When
swimming pool heat pump
prices first came into view, many people scoffed at the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on a device that would cost them money. The idea that you can save money is very appealing when you are struggling with the high cost of utilities. After all, swimming pool heat pump prices have increased an amazing 50% over the last few years! However, you do not need to worry about the price tag as much as you did before. There are now more affordable pool heat pumps that are available, and below we discuss some of the newest ones available:
- A pool heat pump does not really produce heat. Instead, the amount of energy that it uses is derived from electricity and thus does not actually produce heat. Instead, the heat pump extracts warm air from the outside, which has already been warmed by the sunshine, and condenses it. This water is then circulated throughout an evaporator fan and then extracted using a second fan. This is an extremely efficient way to warm your pool.
- The pool heat pump mentioned above is part of what is known as a “high capacity” device. These are pool owners who are able to get larger units for a lower cost than others. The device will need a bit more power than other models, but when it comes to using up power more efficiently, this is where it shines. If you are a pool owner, and you want to find out more information about this type of equipment, please contact us right away.
- An outdoor gas heater can be installed in either your above ground pool, or on top of your existing pool. The gas heater heats the water and can be set to a time that will completely eliminate all forms of energy use. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this type of heater. If you decide to install an outdoor heater, please contact us first so we can come and install it for you.
- Two types of pool heat pumps are available, and both work wonderfully in most climates. These pumps are also called submersible heating pumps. If you live in a hot climate or have a hot tub, you might consider installing an electric heater, as they are excellent for climates like these. There are many models of electric heaters, and there are also several different sizes and models, so contacting us about any questions you may have, is the best way to go.
- The pool heat pumps all operate at the same ideal water flow rate. The reason for this is because there is only one setting: the desired water flow rate. The rate is selected by the pool owner and is usually adjustable, but there are a few pools that must be set at the water flow rate they were designed for.
- If your pool is heated by electricity, you will need a gas pool heater. Some gas pool heat pump models are automatic, so they will stay on when they are turned on and switch themselves off when the temperature drops below a certain point. Some gas pool heat pump models are still manual, but if you want to keep it at a constant temperature regardless of whether or not there are swimmers in the water, you can opt for the manual heater.
- When using an electric heater, the pool heat pump works on Freon. Freon is a form of refrigerant and is used to control the amount of heat that the pool’s compressor pulls from the water. The refrigerant is vaporized into a gas at the compressor’s end, which heats the water before circulating it throughout the house.
